New footbridge on footpath Z12, Off Cook’s Lane, Wigston Harcourt

Members may be aware of Network Rails policy of replacing surface crossings of the main line railway between Nottingham and London.  This usually involves a diversion of the existing route.  The picture below illustrates a new footbridge built over the railway line.  33 steps up and a similar amount down.  Question:- Is this fair on the less abled, which may mean their walk stops at the footbridge?
