New walks programme now on line

by

The new programme of walks will soon be arriving through your letter box but you can get a preview on the website NOW.

You will find the online programme has a new look which we hope you will find much easier to use.

All the walks are on one page and technology will ensure that the next walk is at the top of the page.

Neil will be adding the Tuesday walk start points as they are announced (a slight disadvantage is that ‘Followers’ will no longer receive an email when a new walk is added).

The programme will be amended when changes become necessary, but only if the leader sends details of the change to leicestershire.footpaths@gmail.com. When we are notified of a change to the printed programme a post will be added to ‘SPECIAL NOTICES’ which will send an email alert to ‘Followers’

Before you give it a go a few bits of guidance:-

  1. As it says on the page, click on the walk start point and additional information will be displayed, click again on the start point and the drop down retracts.
  2. To look further ahead you can use the scroll bar, the arrows at the top or click on the date and a month calendar appears use this if you want to view October. You can also look backwards but there aren’t many walks there as yet.
  3. If you get lost navigating around the calendar click on ‘Today’ and our next walk will return to the top of the list.
  4. You can use the print button to print off a list of your choice.
  5. The arrow to the right of the print button shows that the walks programme is consolidated from three calendar, LFA, Tuesday walks and UK holidays. You can select and deselect any of these so if you only want Tuesday walks deselect the other calendars.

Until the old programme ends there will be a choice on the website but the remaining walks on the winter programme are on the new page which is promoted to ‘Important Information’ and is availabe by clicking here https://leicestershirefootpaths.wordpress.com/calendar-of-walks/
